If you’re wondering which Futura Group units are available for each certificate or diploma, we’ve published a handy matrix that explains which resources are available within each qualification.
The ‘Certificate Guide’ clearly outlines which units are required, and which can be offered as elective within each qualification. This valuable document is free to download, and will no doubt be a welcome resource for any faculty administrator who is planning course offerings for 2013 though to 2014 for any of the following Certificates for Diplomas:

Julie Cross, Acting Educational Leader Community Services, Health, Tourism & Recreation Faculty has engaged Futura to develop the RSA online course for NSW. She wanted to ensure that the online content was engaging and interesting for the students and the eCoach format was a perfect way to package the essential knowledge and skills.
The Futura eCoach allows any RTO or Training organisation to provide students with a flexible and engaging eLearning environment that makes use of virtual environments, and various types of interactive exercises. If you’d like to see how it works you can take the eCoach for a test drive (Note: this is not the RSA course, but demonstrates how the eCoach can be used to deliver a wide variety of interactive course materials for assessment).

Futura Group CEO Reinhold Forster recently visited the head office of Triumph Higher Education Group (THEG) for an intense planning session for the next stages of development of the Escoffier Culinary Arts courses.
Jack Larson the CEO of Escoffier Online was excited with the future plans for the online learning model and is looking forward to launching the next generation of courses and resources in partnership with Futura, “The teams are collaboratively working to push the boundaries even further and we are excited about the new possibilities that we are creating.”

Case Study: eCoach used to deliver industrial licensing resources for Easy Guides
Cal Osborne from Easy Guides Australia was looking for a learner driven online platform. After seeing the eCoach and its easy navigation it was a simple decision to convert their High Risk and Industrial licence resources into the eLearning format. Easy Guides provide a range of industry specific certifications, including Earth Moving Plant and Machinery courses (duty of care training) and Forklift Truck, and Crane Safety courses.

Case Study: City Guilds use Futura Group to create online curriculum support materials
After scouring the globe to enhance the curriculum content for their new Diplomas in Hospitality, City & Guilds (a famous UK accreditation body), selected Futura Group to create their new curriculum support materials and provide interactive learning content for Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Patisserie and Cookery, from Level 1 through to Diploma.
John McGee, Head of International Operations chose Futura because of “their comprehensive resources and multimedia components”. Mr McGee also mentioned that Futura’s “educational expertise and understanding of the industry made them an easy choice in supporting our international clients…. they also managed to complete a tremendous amount of work in a very tight timeframe and we are really pleased with the quality of the product”.

Team Pastry Australia finishes 7th at Coupe de Monde de la Patisserie
Futura Group would like to officially congratulate Team Pastry Australia on their performance at this years 2013 CdM in Lyon, France. Working out of their one tonne, custom built kitchen which had been air freighted to France only weeks before – Australia successfully presented all tastings and buffets on time with some of the their best work yet.

Meagan Wilson, National Curriculum Manager for Franklyn Scholar, is making strategic decisions in regards to online learning for this key National RTO. Meagan says that “using Futura Group and their expertise means that e-learning content gets developed fast, looks cool and can be updated quickly in case of training package changes.”

Case Study: Futura eCoach used for HTN induction and WHS training
Michael Bennett, CEO of HTN (which is now is the largest group employer of Apprentice Chefs and Hospitality Trainees in Australia), was interested in streamlining his induction and WHS processes for their large number of cookery and butchery trade apprentices and trainees. Futura Group was engaged to design and build an online Workplace Health & Safety program in conjunction with the NSW Department of Education and TAFE NSW.
Mr Bennett believes that “using the Futura eCoach template allows HTN to present information in an appealing format…. as the saying goes a picture says a thousand words and a video is even better. We have received excellent feedback from learners and workplaces alike. It has been an excellent improvement on our written manuals.”

The Escoffier Cook’s Companion app was has just been featured as one of the 15 Best Cooking Apps on the DailyMeal
Apps were collected from the 30 most-sold app vendors in the Food & Drink Category. Each app was then studied and scored under the following criteria; availability (iPhone and Android?), novelty, user experience, and most importantly: practicality.
The Esocoffier Cook’s Companion made it into the Top 15 apps, because of it’s “range of tools to serve any of your cooking needs, whether it is substitutions, conversions, timers, or reference needs”.

Right Way accreditation has been awarded to Futura Group for the new SIT12 Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package.
The award is part of Service Skills Australia’s strategic work to “achieve quality outcomes” and is designed to reward a commitment to meeting and exceeding industry expectations.
We were granted industry recognition of our training and assessment resources across all commercial cookery, patisserie and food and beverage training units covered in the recently endorsed Training Package. In doing so, we we have become the first resource developer to gain accreditation under the Federal Government program.
Recognition by the Right Way program means that Futura resources and assessment tools:
• Are directly aligned to the training package
• Sufficiently cover the competency standards
• Provide current industry content
